Legal Trauma Institute › The Executive Retreat

The Executive Retreat

One day, live online, with nineteen other people whose success made them a target. You arrive running on a threat response. You leave with a body that has stopped bracing, a plan for your attention, and the composure to perform under questioning.

With Dr. Asher Lyman, PhD, LPC, SEP · 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Mountain · $1,500 · Confidential · No case facts

Who it is for

Founders, CEOs, investors, board members, executives, physicians, surgeons and lawyers who are being sued, investigated or formally accused, and who have to keep performing while it runs. You do not need to be falling apart. You need to have noticed that the case has your attention and you want it back.

Everyone in the room has their own case to not talk about. Case facts are never discussed, by design and by agreement, and nothing is recorded.

The day

  1. 10:00 · Landing. The first practices of the Legal Trauma Recovery Method™: ground that cannot be taken. Most people feel the difference within the first hour.
  2. 11:00 · The condition and the machine. The seven mechanisms of legal trauma, why it is captivity rather than shock, what the research says it costs, and why the people with the best facts are not the ones who come through intact. You will recognize yourself. That is the point. This is not personal failure. It is structural injury.
  3. 12:00 · The inbox. What the email from opposing counsel does to you, and how to turn it into training, practiced live. Not biting the hook. What to do with rage and shame instead of venting or swallowing them.
  4. 1:00 · Break. Away from the screen.
  5. 1:45 · Building the vessel. Inner structure and a boundary, so that attacks land on it instead of on you. Then the room: hostile questions, in pairs, under mild pressure. This is the deposition and the boardroom at once.
  6. 3:00 · The one who watches, and the people who need you. The part of you that watches the "me" being attacked cannot be sued. From there: how to be present with patients, teams and family while the case runs, how to protect relationships from becoming collateral damage, and the one sentence that handles "how's the case going."
  7. 3:40 · Leaving with it. Your practices, your first three weeks of the twelve-week program, and the option to continue in a monthly circle with the people from your day.

Questions

Frequently asked

Will I have to talk about my case?

No. Case facts are never discussed, which protects you and everyone else in the room. You will talk about sleep, attention, decisions and composure, which is what the day is about.

Is it confidential?

Yes. Nothing is recorded, no notes are kept, and every participant agrees to the same confidentiality terms. Participation is never reported to anyone, including a sponsor.

Is this therapy?

No. It is education and coaching for performance under pressure. Dr. Lyman is a licensed psychotherapist, but the retreat does not diagnose, treat or create a clinical record. If you need treatment, he will say so.

What if my deposition is before January 23?

Book a free call. Private deposition-timed sessions are available on a faster schedule, and the retreat is still worth taking afterward; the aftermath of a deposition is its own event.

Can my employer, insurer or fund pay for it?

Yes. Many do. We invoice sponsors directly and never report who attended or what was said.

What is the refund policy?

Full refund up to 14 days before the retreat. Inside 14 days, your seat transfers to the next retreat date.

Twenty seats. One day. The version of you that existed before the complaint.

Education and coaching, not psychotherapy or legal advice. Confidential. Nothing you say is recorded, and no case facts are discussed.
